Automattic Customer Happiness WordPress

I had a privilege of writing an article for Startit about the tools I use on a daily basis for my job as a Happiness Engineer at Automattic.

The article covers the browser extensions I mentioned in the past but I also mentioned some other apps and tools that help me do better at my job.

I hope you’ll find the article useful!

A Few New Year’s Resolutions

Happy New Year everyone! All the best in 2018! Let it be better than 2017 and worse than 2019. Cheers! 🙂

A couple of my New Year’s resolutions that I wanted to share:

  • Excercise a couple of times per week 😅
  • Start using Brave and more 🐱‍💻
  • Deactivate my Facebook account ✔️
  • Blog more by using the WordPress app 📱
  • Learn a new skill 🤓

I’m curious how that goes 🙂 What are your New Year’s resolutions?

Mobile Blogging Just Got Better

It’s been a while since I started my mobile blogging quest. My impressions so far – it’s a bit more time consuming than writing a post on a computer, however, it’s more fun and it does add a special flavor to publishing. In other words, I can say that I now definitely prefer this way of writing posts 😀

To handle the images I want to use in my posts, I installed the apps Pixabay and Pixlr which help me when I need to download free photos and edit them and the ones I take with my camera. I also use the Trello app to keep my ideas for future blog posts at one place.

Edit: One of the readers, Paola Mesber, also suggested this tool for compressing images in order to reduce their size while maintaining the quality. Cheers 🙂

So, after choosing the WordPress mobile app as my tool of choice for publishing blog posts, I was quite surprised to learn that it even got better with the latest update! The new Aztec editor it uses is incredible! You can now use undo and redo buttons, add bulleting, pagination, read more links, and lots more. I am so happy to see that this app is getting the attention and developer love that it really deserves.

Cheers to lots more blog posts published via the Automattic’s WordPress mobile app 🍷

Improving Productivity and Rescuing Time

Lately, my focus is set on improving my productivity at work. I am trying to improve both the quality and the quantity of the work I do, without sacrificing my free time.

I realized that my greatest enemy but also my best friend in increasing producitivity is actually – time. I have to know when I’m wasting it and when I’m using it effectively. So, I searched a bit and I found an amazing app which was just what I needed – RescueTime. It has lots of cool features which help me locate my distractions and become more productive. I’ve been using it for a few weeks and I love it! Also, I was able to get rid of a few bad habits which were preventing me from being more productive. There are still more of them left, though 😀

Nevertheless, definitely take the RescueTime app for a spin!

I forgot to turn off the RescueTime app while watching a movie this particular day 😃

What do you do to increase your productivity at work? Share your thoughts and apps you use 🐼 Thanks!

Mobile Blogging

This is my very first post which I’m writing by using only my cellphone. I was always a bit reluctant to try publishing from a cellphone but I finally gave it a shot. I’m using the WordPress Android app created by Automattic. The app can be found on Play Store and you can also check out this link for more info on currently available WordPress mobile applications.

It’s probably gonna take some time before I get used to writing and publishing this way. However, I must admit I like it so far 😀 Let’s see if my opinion changes after writing a dozen more posts this way. Challenge accepted!
